December 31, 2022 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

December 31, 2022 - 7:14 pm - Posted by Brenda Matthews

I hope that all of you enjoyed the Christmas festivities and that you managed to stay safe and warm despite all the storms. It was good to finish some activities this month, but it got really busy around Christmas visiting, baking, and hosting. Lots of fun!

Our Ladies’ group finished the year with a Christmas party. It was good to sing, share, eat, and laugh together as well as to testify to how God has blessed us this year. I mentioned last time about decorating. When I arrived at church the Sunday after putting up the letters for “The Saviour is Born”, I found most of them on the floor. I set up and climbed up a ladder to reposition the letters. I was on the last letter — up on the ladder at the front of the church — when the worship leader began the service!

My main job at the church Christmas program was to record portions of it and make a video. I incorporated some videos that others shared with me as well. Clicking on the rehearsal photo should take you to the video. In the video you’ll see most of the decorations.

I finished taking the group of potential teachers for the Healthy Church materials, but there are a few who need to get caught up. Please pray that they will make the time soon so we can move ahead with the implementation.

I have a major prayer request regarding the church. I can’t share any details yet, but please pray that if this opportunity is God’s will, that He will prepare hearts and open doors. Stay tuned for more info!

Regarding my trip to visit supporters, the general groundwork is laid, but I wasn’t able to contact everyone before Christmas. I will be back working on that shortly, so please pray that God would continue to pave the way and provide the necessary transportation.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hopeIn those days when you prayI will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Jeremiah 29:11-13, NLT

In this new year, may we search for God with all our being and joyfully walk in the good plans He has for us. May He fill our hearts with hope and provide for all our needs. May His name be exalted!

May God richly bless you in 2023!
