And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17, NIV
Recently I was explaining to someone here that I represent a group of people. You are part of a team of people giving financially and/or praying, so each one of you has a part in anything accomplished here. I am extremely grateful for each one of you. You make it possible for me to be here in the Baja Penninsula, Mexico serving the Lord in the El Faro church.
I am grateful to serve in the audio-visual ministry, the ladies’ ministry and the evangelistic events ministry. I continue to learn new skills preparing visuals for the challenge of a sunlight-filled room. With the ladies we’re going through the Purpose Driven Life book. The October movie event had a modest attendance (due to the targeted audience) and, sadly, the wedding event did not happen. The original couple who moved away did do the civil ceremony, but the other couple didn’t. We’re now preparing for the Christmas event. But I wanted to focus this letter on gratitude for the Lord’s faithful financial supply – and you’re a part of that!
I’m just learning to make these graphs and thought you might be interested in some info. I put this together quickly, so the data is not definitive. Part of that is because some of you give monthly, some give annually, and some give sporadically. Another complicating factor is that some people aren’t able to continue to give.
I noticed that some people hadn’t given for a while and this was concerning. But before I could start worrying, I noticed that some people had increased their giving and there was even a new contribution.
My immediate response was to praise God because He had supplied the need before I was even aware of it. So I thank God for His gracious provision and I thank each of you for your faithful giving.
We can’t quantify the prayers, but I am truly grateful for each of you who prays as well and for others who provide necessary services. I feel so privileged to know each one of you and I pray God’s richest blessings on each of you!
I am also grateful for those who have contributed to the church’s building project. Check out Brandon’s video here: El Faro video This is an on-going project for the glory of God.
I am thankful for God’s protection. In the last two weeks I’ve been to three funerals and couldn’t attend a fourth. Two were natural, age-related deaths, but the others were murders due to the drug cartels fighting for control. (Not to mention the body found a block from here.) Please pray for the city and for safety.
There are still a lot of things to be thankful for, but I’ll end with gratitude for the beauty to be seen in this desert area. Here are some photos of Sunday’s church outing in an arroyo (dry creek bed). Money may not grow on trees, but here I am with a gold tree (smile).
Underwater is also beautiful and I made some more videos to share with you: Underwater Videos
Thankful for you!
