I have wanted to write for the last few weeks because of all the upcoming events, but several of them have passed. I haven’t felt like I’ve had time to jot a note, but I have been keenly aware of the need for prayer. So, I only have a few minutes before the ladies from the small group arrive so we can make something for the group to eat (them teaching me a new recipe). That will obviously be followed by the small group. By the time that’s over and I’ve cleaned up, I’m exhausted, so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to write more details. In the morning is the Thursday pastoral meeting. After that I need to make purchases for preparations for the 5th of December, Celebration Sunday (CS). In the evening I’m helping out one of the pastors by overseeing the drama group as they prepare a skit for this Sunday. Friday the decorations people for CS will be getting together as we have been for several weeks to make the decorations. For CS, I”m also working with the program committee and should touch base again with the clean-up committee. I’m glad the food responsibilities were just given to another group (after putting hours in on that one), but we still need to do everything related to the Anniversary cake that we’ll be sharing. We’re grateful for the donation of beautiful serviettes (napkins) that we’ll be using to serve the cake. We’re also grateful for others who have sent donations as those are being used to help make the celebration special without adding additional burdens to the church.
It’s exciting to see how God is working during the 40 Days of Purpose campaign. As part of the program, we’re video taping testimonies, so I get to hear all kinds of God-stories. Hopefully I can write more soon, but please do pray for all the small groups, and especially the two I lead Monday and Wednesday nights.
God bless!
