Do you remember 10 years ago when I was planning TEAM Venezuela’s Annual Conference with the theme “Celebrate!”? Many of you contributed to its success. Well, another opportunity is knocking at your door.
The church I’m serving in is going to do the 40 Days of Purpose campaign and yours truly is heading up the planning of the final event, Celebration Sunday. The purpose of this event is to celebrate what God has done during the campaign. We, the committee and I, would like to make it really special, so we’re offering you the opportunity to contribute. The problem is that this time it’s on a much larger scale. Maybe you could get your church, or several churches in the area, to take this on as a project. We’re hoping to need about 1,500-2,000 items for the people who attend as well as decorations. If you could help with one of these items or if you could do a partial amount, please let me know. If several can do partial amounts of an item, it could add up to what we need.
We’re asking for items we can’t get here like serviettes (napkins to my US friends) with the number 40 in bright colours with party-type decoration. Matching paper plates would be fun to use as well. During the recognition of workers time, we’d like to supply noise-makers and party whistles. Here we can only get coloured plastic whistles, but up there they come in different fun shapes (like lips) and sounds.
As far as decorations, we want to create a flower garden effect and use grape vines and clusters of grapes with John 15:5 as a theme verse. If anyone has any ideas, let me know!
10 years ago, a supporter sent pens with the theme inscribed. Something like that to give to each person to take as a reminder of the event and what God did in the campaign would be fantastic. The inscription would need to be:
40 Días con Propósito
and maybe Piura, 2010 could be added on another line. Adding a little drawing of a cluster of grapes would bring it all together.

Whether you can give or not, we’d still like your prayers. Right now we (the pastoral team) need your prayers as we plan for the campaign. The launch date is October 17th ending with Celebration Sunday December 5th.
