December 17, 2009 WEBSITE INVITE

December 17, 2009 - 8:37 pm - Posted by Brenda Matthews

Greetings from Lima or Venezuela!

I’d like to invite you to visit the website at brendamatthews.missynew.ws and look around at what is there.  It’s mostly archives of correspondence since leaving Venezuela, but there is also a link to Home Assignment 2009 Presentation.  You might see yourself there, so check it out!  Hopefully I’m with my Lima pastor instead of Shrek (in the photo).

While in Canada and the US, I was able to share my Home Assignment 2009 Presentation with many of you, but not all of you.  We’ve been trying to get it on the website, but it is still not downloading correctly there.  If you see less than 17 minutes, 27 seconds, you’re not seeing the entire presentation.

I do want to make the Presentation available to all of you, so I divided it into two parts and posted them on Picasa.  You need to look at both parts to see the whole presentation.  If you click on Home Assignment 2009 Presentation, below the video screen you will see the two links.  After clicking on Part 1 which takes you to Picasa, click on Google Video at the bottom, right corner of the video screen.  Click on Original Size to get the best quality.  You may need to repeat this step on Part 2.

Part 1 is 6:57 minutes.  It summarizes my 24 years of ministry in Venezuela, the transition to Canada and ends with maps of Peru.

(The links need to be copied without arrows or breaks if clicking on them doesn’t open Picasa.)

Part 2 is 10:30 minutes.  It introduces the anticipated ministry in Peru trying to give a feel for this new ministry area and the team I’ll work with.

I opened these in Firefox and in Internet Explorer.  Sometimes in Firefox it buffered first and other times it began immediately.  In Internet Explorer I had to approve an applet and then sometimes click within the darkened area of the download bar to get the video to start and then click at the beginning to watch it all, and sometimes started on its own.

I hope you’re able to watch the presentation.  Be sure to have the volume up.

Also, under the Home Assignment 2009 Presentation you’ll find TEAM’s Everyone One Hundred Campaign.  Click on there to find out about TEAM’s challenge to commit to praying for missions for the first 100 days of 2010.

I will probably be out of contact until February as I leave Friday, Dec. 18, for Venezuela and then go to Arequipa, Peru before returning to Lima for a month of training in the mother church in February, so I’d like to wish you all a Christ-centered, joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year.

God bless,

Brenda
