2020 Christmas Card 25I trust that this Christmas has been meaningful, even though it hasn’t had all the trappings.  Hopefully this has allowed us to focus on the true meaning of Christmas – a celebration of God’s incredible love as the Son took on human flesh.  He left all the glory of Heaven behind with the purpose of making salvation possible for all of us.  Although not thought of as a Christmas verse, it is summarized in John 3:16.John 3 s25

There’s not a lot to report because I took some vacation time this month.  I mostly worked on personal projects, but I was able to get away for a couple of days.  The first day only had about 3 hours of light to birdwatch, but I could dedicate the next day to this hobby.  I saw over 50 species of birds and photographed 46 species.  Seven were first-time sightings for me here.  To see photos of where I stayed, the birds, and lots more, click on the sample collage.  It’ll take a while to see them all, but when you get to the horses on the street in town and the horse on the highway, La Ribera Birdsyou’ll be at the end of 606 photos.  I tried to organize them, but they returned to the photo date, so the better ones are toward the end (considering that it was overcast the whole time).

The restrictions have tightened up again, but, ministry-wise, I was able to share The Nativity Story with several people on a couple of Zoom calls and visit with a few people.  Although several of our church people have recovered from COVID-19, sadly one sister died of it and complications yesterday.  Please pray for Manuel, her husband, and the family as they grieve her loss and readjust.  Please also pray for Belkis (recovering from COVID) and for TEAM Mexico colleagues dealing with the loss of loved ones, recovering from surgery, and facing chemo/radiation treatments.  I praise God that I am healthy and that my arm has almost completely recovered – thanks for your prayers.

Last month I mentioned that I’ve been released from all my ministry responsibilities in order to focus on the process of implementing the PD strategy.  I asked you to pray for focused concentration to be able to pull materials from different sources and languages together in clear presentations and for creativity preparing the visuals to best communicate the message.  This will involve translation and a lot of coordination and this is my focus for the rest of this month and for January, possibly into February.  Please pray for focus, for a lack of distractions, for sharpness of mind, and for the Holy Spirit to be guiding in the entire process.

2021 s25In this New Year, may the Lord bless you out of His abundance, may He grant good health, may He guide you in your decisions, may He make you to be a blessing to those around you, and may He continue to reveal Himself to you all for His glory and your good.  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

May God richly bless you in 2021,
