Thank you so much for praying for Piura Norte’s first evangelistic event. We are all very encouraged with how it went.
10 of the 12 believers committed to PN were in attendance, with the other two in other cities, so PN attendance was encouraging.
Each of us was to invite unsaved friends and the goal was that at least one would actually attend. We had 28 guests!!!!
I was hoping for 30-40 people (and was afraid that was high) but, including myself and the Stevensons, we had 43.
Paul and son Jesse favoured us three musical sets combining harmonica with guitar or violin. Paul and wife Carol were asked to speak on Strengthening Relationships and the main focus was on forgiveness. They gave an interesting and challenging talk with a clear gospel presentation. They also did an excellent job fielding questions and there were many significant conversations after the event.
Thanks to Armando for taking these photos on his cell phone. The Stevensons will be sending more, so they should be posted in the next couple of weeks.
When I started to make a list of people to thank, I realized that everyone from PN took part in the evening in one way or another, apart from the guests they brought. Many of them just pitched in when they saw a need or an opportunity to serve, so that was also very encouraging. Thanks to each of you who prayed for your contribution as well!
Next week PN will start our own series in two small groups. Please pray for a good beginning that will only get better. It would be great to see guests from last night become involved in the small groups, so please pray to that end.
March 4-10 I’ll be in Lima. I’ll be attending a national pastors’ meeting, meeting with the Benavides pastors, shopping for PN supplies, and meeting with the Benavides pastors I’m directly responsible to, as well as with my Lima small group. Please pray that all these activities would be productive.
One of the later weekends in March the Benavides pastor I answer to directly, Omar, will be coming to encourage those committed to PN and to bring some training. Please pray as that date is set so that everyone will be able to attend.
